We want your healing to be a positive experience for you. Therefore we’d like to give you some tips and information about our style of healing.
When you arrive you need to remove your footwear before entering the shrine. The shrine is a sacred empowered space and this is a sign of respect to the energy that it holds. Inside the door are some pegs where you are welcome to leave your things and your coats. Please remember to switch off your mobile phone.
You can sit anywhere you like in the shrine although there will usually be seats in the centre, facing the altar giving you maximum effect.
You may be guided in a meditation using a CD and the healer may give you a Mantra to chant silently during the healing (you will have a chance to practice it 36 times before the healing begins) and you may be given a hand posture or “Mudra” to hold. Then you can slip off into the Visualisation as guided by the CD. If you lose the Mudra, the Mantra or the Visualisation there is no need to worry – this is about healing you, not making further tension in your body.
The healer will be activating a powerful energy used for many hundreds of years by Buddhists to help end the suffering of humanity. The names given to this energy vary and some may know it as Chi, Qi, Prana or life-force. However it’s preferable not to give it a name and just feel and experience the energy.
During the healing you may feel heat, tingling or cold wind rushing. This is all perfectly normal and shows that the healing is having an effect. However, sometimes nothing is felt or you may have a sense of calm or feel deeply relaxed. After the healing you might feel tired, so please make sure you come on a day that is relatively clear of other commitments. It is also important to drink plenty of water afterwards.
It’s a good idea to come regularly as the healing can only be as good as the energy that you put into it. We also recommend a donation is placed into the red box in front of the altar. In the west this is not very usual, but we are working with very powerful energy. It’s good for your karma and is a sign of respect to honour the healing energy and the healer that brings it through for you. However, this donation is made at your own discretion.
We look forward to helping you and bringing the warmth and gentle kindness of this healing into your life.
